I wanted to write a series of picture books that have a story, actually rhyme and don’t moralise – just be fun and funny. Hopefully a pleasure for adults to read and, most of all, great for kids to listen to.

So something easy to rattle through, because bedtimes are so often when you have the tiredest audience listening to the tiredest performer.
